Just 2 months of Residency Left

I really like this little quote I saw at one of my "cousin once removed" or something like that's house. I went to my grandma's sister's funeral near Oakland, CA last week. It was an impressive trip. To start it was the first time I have been on a trip without at least one child in nearly 11 years. The beauty of CA-the grape vines, olive trees, wow! It felt sooo good to get a little refreshing air. Stay in a beautiful place and just get a little bit of heaven by being with extended family again. Yesterday my husband signed his contract for his first "JOB". In 2 months our lives will change. Today as my husband was about to leave for work he said something that is classical of the past four years. "The race-tonight get to work (by 6 p.m. it was 5:38), end at 2 a.m. come home, sleep a little, prepare for my presentation in clinic tomorrow at 1, come home from work, prepare for church meetings at 7. But, I got a lot done today!" I don't know if he will ever not be sleep deprived. Little moments.

Isaac's violin Solo

Isaac is "out of here" after finishing his solo performance.
Look up cesarbriganti on YouTube and you can watch his performance of Caterpillar Caterpillar.

Sara turned 2

Did you know princess/fairies brush their teeth?
She doesn't like to smile for pictures much.

Happy 2nd birthday Sara!
She has been so cute. Since her birthday when she gets the blocks out that she got for her birthday she says, "Sara birthday" and she wants everyone to remember that.

Offer Accepted

Moving forward. They replied with a slightly higher price than we offered. We figure that's fine. Cesar meets with his new boss this weekend to discuss up coming schedules. He's also going to spend two weeks of his residency working at his new hospital to learn the ropes since he's never worked in their system. This is exciting! :) We're getting closer. I'll post more pictures later.

A house

Today was a blustery day but my heart felt good. We made a counter offer on this house. We shall see how it all works out but I feel really peaceful about this and though it does not seem to make the most sense. We were praying about this house and what to do about it and a few neat things happened that helped us decide to go for it. One was that as we walked up the street, I recognized that we had been there before a couple of years ago when we went looking for Arabian horse breeders. These people live 2 houses over across the street. We had visited them and their neighbors and really liked them both. And as we were heading toward our car three children came walking up the street with three lambs on lead ropes. We walked over to them and talked to them. The lambs are for 4H and they are starting to get them ready. Cesar was sooo thrilled to have the thought of having neighbors like that--where the kids walk their lambs down the street and almost everybody has horses. Then we drove to the hospital where he has gotten a job and it was less than 10 minutes away. It took us 10 minutes to get to the Oquirr Mountain Temple. Can you believe that? For Cesar to be able to have animals and be less than 10 minutes from work and be 10 minutes from the temple. For me, the house is nice and it is plenty big. Thank you, Heavenly Father. What a blessing and a miracle if we get this house. It has been four years since we came out to Utah from Rochester to look for a house. Now we are once again about to have big major changes. The past four years have been quite challenging but just 2 months and 3 weeks and residency will be over. Cesar is still the branch president of our little branch. He is now studying for the boards every time he is not working or doing branch stuff. Yesterday was his first day off in a month--if you count the one day off that he had every Sunday at the church as work (which I do because I don't see him). Conference was wonderful and difficult for me. I felt like I was not measuring up but there is still time to do better. Today I was able to be with my husband for more than a couple of hours and it was so wonderful---Making big decisions.

Spring break

Today we had an amazing experience. Last December my mom found her real dad and met him. Today I met her dad's brother, Javier, his wife son and daughter and my mom's new aunt. In this picture you see my children, my mom, my sister Veronica in pink and the new family we met.
Reed and Hyrum, twins?

Reed turned 7 on Wednesday. I can't believe it. He is a fun boy. He plays well by himself. He can imagine with his toys for hours. I took the children and Reed's friend Zack to the Discovery Gateway for a few hours. The next day when I took Reed to his annual doctor's appointment the doctor asked him what he did for his birthday, "I played, and played and played."

President's day fun

The boys built snow forts in the snow.
The squares I cut in about 13 hours.

Sara in the pretty dress nana gave her for Christmas.

I haven't posted in a while. I felt too stressed. But, this weekend Cesar didn't have to go to work from Friday evening til tomorrow morning. Wow. What a difference it makes to have a husband around. I can't wait until residency is over. Just four and a half months. We also got to go with my dad's family up to Snowbird today. Didn't ski 'cause that's too expensive but we visited and took the kids to the outdoor pool that was 94 degrees while it was snowing on top of our heads. Isaac was throwing snow at people and then getting it back from Jason. I was so much more relaxed having my husband around to help me. Yes. So Cesar has been offered a job as a hospitalist in internal medicine at a brand new hospital in Riverton Utah and as soon as he has time he will sign the contract. He was going to spend today doing important stuff like that but then he decided to spend some time with the family and now still has important stuff to do he says about a weeks worth. O boy.

My grandma's 83rd birthday was on Friday. She has made a quilt for each of her grandchildren when they were babies and then again when they get married so I had the idea to make her a quilt from the grandchildren but then I felt like I had too many other things to do to be in charge of that. A few weeks ago while sitting in Relief Society with my grandma in Wallsburg I felt I should do it and do it now. So I asked my Aunt Denice to help me. She designed a simple pattern and last Friday we went and bought the material. I spent most of the night cutting the squares. Today I got 14 of the 33 cousins to personalize their square. The other cousins should have their squares by the end of this week and I hope to have them all back by the first week in March. When the spirit tells you to do something--JUST DO IT! That is what I've learned over the years and then the help to be able to do it comes as you do what you're told to do. I'm so glad to be working on this quilt for my grandma. She has done so much for me over the years and I know she will appreciate this gift.
